PROFESSIONAL PROFILE

FAP, when implementing the Literature Course, degree, Portuguese and English qualification and respective Literatures, proposes to train professionals interculturally capable of handling, critically, with languages, considering the following aspects:

  1. Satisfy the demands of contemporary society with regard to its performance in the world of work;

  2. Handle the different languages, especially in oral and written contexts, in order to dialectically assimilate cultural values;

  3. Consider the language as a plurality of social, regional, stylistic variations, among others, to develop a pedagogical work based on the aesthetic, political and ethical principles and values that a professional must have;

  4. Knowing how to use problem solving strategies and new technologies, in the context of diversity / heterogeneity of knowledge, in order to meet new social demands;

  5. Being able to promote the intrinsic articulation between teaching, research and extension in order to understand their professional training as a continuous, autonomous and permanent process.

Therefore, professionals must be based on a theoretical and practical framework of language teaching necessary for the performance of educational practice in basic education in an efficient and effective manner, thus favoring the practice of critical reflection on themes and issues related to linguistic and literary knowledge. in the light of different theories, and the work must be committed to investigative practice, to the production and dissemination of systematized knowledge and to the formation of citizens, thus enabling them to consciously participate in the evolution of the current world.
