Promote the understanding of basic language processes;
To study the complexity of the study of language in the double aspect of understanding and production;
Discuss the main theories about language acquisition and its exponents, based on the assumptions of Psycholinguistics;
Analyze research trends in the area of language acquisition, in Brazil, from a historical retrospective;
Understand the characteristics of oral and written language and its development;
Understanding that Language Acquisition constitutes a field of study for Psycholinguistics, as a multidisciplinary area is fueled by issues arising from Psychology and Linguistics, aims to discuss theoretical and methodological issues;
Make a historical introduction, starting from the roots and evolution of Psycholinguistics;
Understand language in its relationship with other cognitive functions;
To know the language through the study of its main modalities - auditory and visual;
Discuss the characteristics of the structure, components and function of language;
Discuss the main characteristics of the oral language development of individuals, emphasizing grammatical and communication aspects (semantics, syntax and morphology);
Understand the importance and benefits of certain pedagogical activities for the development of individuals' oral and written language;
Reflect the importance of the Education of individuals in order to enhance the motor, psychological and comprehension aspects of the function of oral and written language.

Holders of a Higher Education Diploma in the area of Letters, students enrolled in the last semester and other professionals from similar areas who wish to achieve excellence in the Psycholinguistic area.
WORKLOAD
The course will have a face-to-face load of 460 face-to-face, where 70% involve scientific fundamentals and 30% comprise practical activities both individually and in small groups. The systematic monitoring of the course conclusion work will be carried out by the Advisor, who will provide 40 hours / paid classes for such activity and the others related to the disciplines will be planned by the professor of the discipline and communicated to the Course Coordinator, according to the distribution below:

FREQUENCY
The Course will be held in modules with a biweekly meeting on weekends, being Friday from 6pm to 10pm, Saturday from 8am to 12pm and from 1pm to 6pm, totaling 15 hours per week.
